Statement of Merit Criteria
By the time of appointment the candidate must have completed two years of law school at a Canadian university or registered with the National Committee on Accreditation who reasonably expects and is scheduled to commence articling in 2019.
Good cumulative average in law school AND a combination of additional education, training or experience relevant to the position. For purposes of this process, “Good” is defined as a minimum cumulative average of B.
Knowledge of the work of the Ontario Regional Office of the Department of Justice
Ability to analyse legal issues
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Effective interpersonal skills
Language proficiency: English essential
Demonstrated interest in public service
Demonstrated interest in litigation
Candidates must be flexible with respect to hours of work, lunch breaks and rest periods.
Candidates will be required to travel occasionally.

Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. Screening may be conducted on a top-down basis, for example, selection for interviews may be based on candidates having more than one of the above essential experience criteria.
