Articling Student, Ontario Regional Office
Group & Level: LA-01 (Articling Student)
Essential Qualifications
At the time of appointment candidates must have a law degree from a Canadian university. Alternately, the candidate must have a law degree from a university outside of Canada, together with a Certificate of Qualification issued by the National Committee on Accreditation.
- Good cumulative average in law school
- Knowledge of the work of the Ontario Regional Office of the Department of Justice
- Interest in a public service career with the Department of Justice
- Interest in a litigation practice
- Ability to analyse legal issues
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Judgment
- Language proficiency: English essential
Operational Requirements
- Candidates must be flexible with respect to hours of work, lunch breaks and rest periods.
- Candidates will be required to travel occasionally.

Security Clearance: Secret

- Preference will be given to Canadian citizens
- Due to the number of applicants and the strict hiring deadlines imposed by the Law Society of Upper Canada, not all applicants will be interviewed
