TAX COURT JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED

OTTAWA, June 19, 2009 -- The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, today announced the following appointment:

The Honourable Frank J. Pizzitelli, a sole practitioner in Orillia, Ontario, is appointed
a Judge of the Tax Court of Canada.  He replaces Mr. Justice E.P. Rossiter who was appointed Associate Chief Justice of the Court on July 14, 2008.

Mr. Justice Pizzitelli received a Bachelor of Laws in 1980 and a Master of Laws (Tax)
in 2001 from Osgoode Hall Law School.  He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1982. Mr.
Justice Pizzitelli has practiced with Woolley, Dale & Dingwall, Bratty & Partners from 1985 to 1986, Pizzitelli & Associates from 1987 to 2000 and Hacker, Gignac, Rice from 2000 to 2006. Mr. Justice Pizzitelli was then a lawyer at Purser Dooley Cockburn Smith LLP from 2006 to 2008 and Frank J. Pizzitelli Law Office from 2008 to 2009. Mr. Justice Pizzitelli has developed an expertise in taxation and estate planning, estate administration, corporate and commercial. 

This appointment is effective immediately.
