Text equivalent of EM and BCP Governance Structure

The Department of Justice Canada Emergency Management and Business Continuity Planning Flowchart is divided into four supporting committees that support the Emergency Response Committee, comprising of: 1) Emergency Operations Team (EOT), chaired by the Director General, Administration Directorate and the vice chair is the Director, Safety, Security and Emergency Management Division 2) Justice Emergency Coordinating Committee (JECC), 3) National Security Group, Justice Emergency Team (JET), 4) Justice Emergency Operational Centre (JEOC).

The Emergency Response Committee, chaired by the Assistant Deputy Minister, Management Sector; the Vice Chair is the Director General, Administration Directorate, and Departmental Security Officer; the ex-officio members of this committee are: the Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General of Canada and the Associate Deputy Ministers.

The Emergency Response Committee information flows to: the 1) Executive Committee (of which the vice-chair is filled by both Associate Deputy Ministers), 2) the Director General of Administration Directorate and Departmental Security Officer, 3) specific units including: other Emergency Response Committee Members, Chief of Staff of the Deputy Minister, all Assistant Deputy Ministers or equivalent, Director Generals of Communications and Human Resources, Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Counsel, Regional Representation, Public Safety Canada Legal Services Unit, Chair Justice Emergency Coordinating Committee, and, Director, Safety, Security and Emergency Management Division.

The Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Management Division is also the Departmental Security Officer.

The National Security Business Continuity Planning Committee is co-chaired by the Departmental Security Officer, and Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Management Division. The Business Continuity Planning Coordinator is a member of this committee; and, there are representatives for each region, as well as the Portfolio and Branches.
