The Federation of Saskatchewan Indians Inc. (FSII) has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Indigenous Mediation Pilot Training Project.
The objective of this Project is to build on the Indigenous Mediation Curriculum, which was previously developed in partnership with the Treaty 4 Tribal Councils. This will be achieved by coordinating and delivering training on this curriculum to the Tribal Councils and First Nations in Saskatchewan. The planning and selection of First Nation mediators for the training will be done in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Indian Justice Council.
Upon completion of the training, the curriculum will be reviewed and revised as required, resulting in a training package developed in consultation with communities that is culturally sensitive and relevant. The revised curriculum and guide books will be printed and distributed to the Tribal Councils and First Nations.
