Purpose: The London Family Court Clinic has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the project entitled "Youth iPortage". The objective of the project is to prioritize the needs of at-risk Indigenous youth in the London-Middlesex area by supporting capacity building at N'Amerind Friendship Centre to allow it to respond in a proactive and preventative manner. The project will pilot a collaboration between the London Family Court Clinic, N'Amerind Friendship Centre, mindyourmind, and London Police Service to identify at-risk youth with criminogenic tendencies prior to any charges having been laid. These youth would be referred to an eight-week experiential program with follow-through support and access to coordinated services. By coordinating the involvement of several organizations in this project, the London Family Court Clinic extends the resources available to N'Amerind's Community Justice Program in serving the needs of the 800+ youth in its associated programs. N'Amerind staff would also receive training through the process of program development and delivery.
