(3) In the case of a discrepancy between the original version of a document referred to in paragraph (2)(a) or (e) and the translated text, the original version shall prevail.

What is the change

In case of discrepancies between the original version of a document and the translated text, the original version prevails.

Reason for the change

The amendment clarifies procedure and provides guidance to courts.

When

The change will come into force by Order in Council. In force in Manitoba, Yukon and Nunavut, as of March 1, 2021. In force in Ontario and Saskatchewan, as of February 1, 2022. In force in British Columbia, as of December 1, 2024.
