The x-axis shows the median sentence length in days by intervals of 50, from 0 to 450.
The y-axis is divided into 16 categories, from top to bottom: driving offences, drug possession, drug trafficking, administration of justice offences, other property offences, mischief, theft over, break & enter, weapons offences, other violent offences, robbery, other sexual offences, sexual assault, assault, serious sexual assault, serious assault. Each category is subdivided into two categories, from top to bottom: non-Aboriginal youth and Aboriginal youth.
- For driving offences, the median sentence length is approximately 195 days for Aboriginal youth and approximately 275 days for non-Aboriginal youth.
- For drug possession, the median sentence length is approximately 95 days for Aboriginal youth and approximately 155 days for non-Aboriginal youth.
- For drug trafficking, the median sentence length is approximately 125 days for Aboriginal youth and approximately 175 days for non-Aboriginal youth.
- For administration of justice offences, the median sentence length is approximately 55 days for Aboriginal youth and approximately 80 days for non-Aboriginal youth.
- For other property offences, the median sentence length is approximately 180 days for Aboriginal youth and approximately 160 days for non-Aboriginal youth.
- For mischief, the median sentence length is approximately 140 days for Aboriginal youth and approximately 90 days for non-Aboriginal youth.
- For theft over, the median sentence length is approximately 160 days for Aboriginal youth and approximately 150 days for non-Aboriginal youth.
