Activities (federal)
- Activity 1: Consultation, amendments and signing of contribution agreements with the provinces and territories.
- Activity 2: Amendments to applicable regulations for reflecting the language rights provided for in the Criminal Code.
Outputs (federal)
- Output 1: Signed contribution agreements reflecting the language rights set out in sections 530 and 530.1 of the Criminal Code.
- Output 2:Signed contribution agreements reflecting the language rights set out in Part IV of the Official Languages Act.
- Output 3: Regulatory or legislative amendments reflecting language rights.
Activities (provincial)
- Activity 1: Hiring and allocation of bilingual judicial and extra-judicial personnel.
- Activity 2: Language training for judicial and extra-judicial personnel.
- Activity 3: Installation and modification of equipment and systems for accessing bilingual judicial and extra-judicial services.
- Activity 4: Documentation and related information in both official languages.
- Activity 5: Installation of bilingual signage.
Outputs (provincial)
- Output 1: The required bilingual judicial and extra-judicial personnel is in place.
- Output 2:The required training is provided.
- Output 3: The required electronic equipment is installed.
- Output 4: The required documents are provided in both official languages.
- Output 5: The required signage in both official languages is installed.
Immediate outcomes
- Increased capacity to carry out judicial activities and to offer extra-judicial services relating to federal contraventions in both official languages
Intermediate outcomes
- Outcome 1: The judicial activities carried out as part of prosecuting federal offences under the Contraventions Act respect the provisions set out in sections 530 and 530.1 of the Criminal Code.
- Outcome 2: The extra-judicial services provided as part of prosecuting federal offences under the Contraventions Act respect the provisions set out in Part IV of the Official Languages Act.
Long-term outcomes
- The Contraventions Act is implemented in all jurisdictions of Canada in a manner that is respectful of the quasi-constitutional language rights of Canadians.
