Figure 2 is a broken-line graph showing the number of adults charged with drug offences, by type of offence, in the Northwest Territories from 1977 to 1998. The X axis shows the year; the Y axis shows the number of adults charged, in increments of 50, from 0 to 250. There are two broken lines: one (dark blue) showing the number of adults charged with drug possession; and one (pink) showing the number of adults charged with drug trafficking, importing and growing.

The number of adults charged with drug possession shows a slight downward trend, from 133 in 1977 to 82 in 1998. The number of adults charged with drug trafficking, importing and growing remained fairly stable, with a slight increase, from 24 in 1977 to 68 in 1998.
