This is a stacked vertical bar chart that illustrates the population of Nunavut by age group for the year 1996.

The Y axis is measured in thousands and increases in increments of one thousand from 0 to 9,000.

The X axis represents the regions and the age groups. The following regions are listed from left to right: Keewatin, Kitikmeot, North Baffin and South Baffin. Age groups are classified as follows: at the bottom is age 1 to 14, then age 15 to24, followed by age 25 to 44 and finally at the top are ages 44 and above.

The population of the Keewatin region is made up of approximately 3000 people between the ages of 1 to 14, approximately 1000 people between the ages of 15 to 24, approximately 2000 people between the ages of 25 to 44 and approximately 1000 people are over the age of 44.
