Description
The figure above is a broken-line graph showing the number of adults charged in the Northwest Territories from 1977 to 1998, with a projection (dotted line) of the probable trend for future years from 1999 to 2003. The X axis shows the year; the Y axis shows the number of adults charged, in increments of 50, from 0 to 300. The number of adults charged varies between 146 and 260.
The figure shows several fluctuations leading to an increase and then to a decrease from 1977 to 1986, with the result that the number in 1986 is practically the same as in 1977 (approximately 150). The same trend can be seen from 1986 to 1998: the number of adults charged increases, decreases and returns to its initial level of approximately 150. Lastly, the projection suggests a probable increase from 1998 to 1999, and then a stable level of approximately 200 until 2003.
