Description

This figure is a broken-line graph showing the actual (1977-1998) and projected (1999-2003) number of adults charged with drug offences in British Columbia. The number of adults charged remains stable between 1977 and 1990, with numbers between 6,195 (1985) and 8,281 (1977). In 1991, it reaches the peak for the period studied, with around 10,000 cases. It then decreases and stabilizes in 1998 at 7,069 cases. The 1999-2003 projection shows a slight increase for 1999 (7,404 cases), then some stability with the number remaining steady at around 7,300 cases through to 2003.
