The Y axis represents the percentage of single conviction cases. It is measured in percentage and increases in increments of ten from 0 to 80.
The X axis represents the most serious sentence for committing a violent act against children under three yeas, three to eleven years, and twelve to seventeen years. The serious sentences listed are as follows from left to right: Prison, Conditional sentence, probation, fine and other
- 30% of the family members who commit acts of violence against children under 3 years of age are given a prison sentence
- 16% of the family members who commit acts of violence against children 3 to 11 years of age are given a prison sentence
- 14% of the family members who commit acts of violence against children 12 to 17 years of age are given a prison sentence
