Fall Economic Statement 2024: Canada’s Black Justice Strategy

The 2024 Fall Economic Statement proposed to provide $77.9 million over two years, starting in 2025-26, to launch Canada’s Black Justice Strategy. This strategy takes a whole-of-government approach. It includes $4.4 million in funding through the Victims Fund to support Black-specific, culturally grounded and accessible supports and services for Black victims and survivors of crime and their families.

Victims Fund-Human Trafficking

An invitational call for proposals has been launched for supports and services for victims and survivors of human trafficking. If you would like further information about this call for proposals, please contact PB-DGP@justice.gc.ca

The Victims Fund provides grants and contributions to support projects and activities that encourage the development of new approaches, promote access to justice, improve the capacity of service providers, foster the establishment of referral networks, and/or increase awareness of services available to victims of crime and their families. The Fund does not provide criminal injuries compensation for victims of crime.
