Purpose:

The Micmacs of Gesgapegiag have entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to implement a community justice structure that will respond to the needs, cultures and realities of the Mi'gmag people of Gesgapegiag. The project's objectives are to structure the Justice Committee in a formal setting; to include the Apigsigtoagan as a guiding tool in conflict resolution management; to continue to inform the community of alternative forms of community justice; and to maintain collaborations with local resources involved in the field of justice.
