Purpose:
|
This project will conduct a feasibility study on a healing centre for victims of serious crime. The project includes: a brief literature review of existing services for victims -- especially residential services and peer support services for victims -- in North America, Australia and Europe; the exploration of further exemplary programs; the development of a survey to seek input from survivors in Canada to examine what services should be offered to victims; and, the identification of what services should be offered if there is a need for a healing centre. If results indicate a healing centre is needed, a business plan would be developed to secure funding for a subsequent phase of the project.
